What's Up?...Help
for young New Zealanders is a helpline for young people (ages 5 to 18 years)
who want to talk to someone about problems they face. Calls are received from
all parts of New Zealand. The most common problems presented are concerns about
relationships with peers, bullying, concerns about relationships with family
members, concerns about relationships with girlfriends/boyfriends, and pregnancy.
Child Protection Studies (CPS)
aims to increase community awareness of child abuse and raise the skill and
confidence of all to prevent harm to children.
Students against violence
(SAVE) is a group founded by students for students. The group has been established
in the Nelson region. SAVE plans to run a campaign throughout Nelson secondary
schools to raise awareness amongst youth of the effects of domestic violence.
Our long term goal is to have SAVE Groups all around New Zealand and together
we can make a difference.

dedicated to empowering children and teens to be active participants in creating
their own healthy, calm lives. Books, CDs, Stress Awareness Curriculum and other
products introduce children and teens to proven stress-management techniques.
Newsletters and articles explore all topics concerning today's youth and the

'Me’ - an interactive CD Rom on relationships, health
and hygiene for those with Special Needs. In the relationship section there is
information on friendships, relationships, boundaries, breaking up, asking permission.
In the hygiene section there is step by step guidance on how to shower, how to
wipe your bottom, how to manage periods. There is a section on puberty changes,
getting help and what to do if people are doing things to you that you don’t
like.

Relational Aggression
opens discussion on the way girls manipulate the social scene to hurt or psychologically
"destroy" their peers. This is emotional violence and it is rampant.
When a girl -or any child- is victimized, when psychological cruelty goes unchecked,
there are both short and long-term consequences. So what are the "appropriate"
ways for girls to handle their feelings of hostility? What do culture and the
media model to our children? Can anything be done to change the status-quo?
Heart to
Heart is a New Zealand-based charitable trust established in 2001. Their
aim is to provide high-quality parenting education at low or no cost to parents
and caregivers. The Trust provides support to course creator and facilitator
Chris Wilson in running the Heart to Heart Course for Parents. The website sets
out the aims and objectives of the Trust along with an outline of the workshop/courses
on offer. Additionally, they have included a number of helpful articles on parenting
and testimonials from parents and caregivers who have attended their courses.
Peace Movement Aotearoa
is the national networking organisation in Aotearoa New Zealand for people interested
in peace, social justice and human rights.
Fathering the Future Trust is a Christchurch based charitable trust that
has been set up to raise the profile of fathers in society. The Trust's vision
is to promote a culture where fathers have an active and child centred parenting
role. They aim to put the welfare of children first. "While we acknowledge
that different family structures exist, we believe children develop best with
loving caring mother, father and whanau. In the context of all family structures

provide support and information for when you are dealing with violence in your
life. Their services are confidential and free. They're here to listen and to
help you make choices for your safety. They are an independent community organisation
run by women for women and children.
