KIDPOWER collaborated with the Youth Education Services of the National New
Zealand Police to develop the 'Confident Kids' programme that incorporates the
experiential KIDPOWER skills into their current violence and abuse prevention
curriculum.
“The Police Youth Education Service is pleased to refer to KIDPOWER NZ schools who wish to support Keeping Ourselves Safe with self-defence. The Youth Education Service of Police has spent considerable time investigating and evaluating the services provided by KIDPOWER New Zealand. These investigations give confidence that at this time KIDPOWER NZ provides schools with suitable self defence training.” - Soya Logan, Head of NZ Police Youth Education Service
"Kidpower is a proven programme that enables children and young people to keep safe in the community." - Police Youth Education Officer

"As a psychologist who has many years experience in working with adult survivors of sexual abuse, I fully endorse the FULLPOWER courses. The changes that can be brought about for clients are remarkable." - R. Musters, Registered Psychologist
"In my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I have referred clients to Fullpower. As a result of only one program, most have demonstrated obvious signs of healing past trauma and stepping into new confidence about their boundaries and self-esteem. This is a course I wish every person in New Zealand could participate in." - Tasman Counselling Centre
"I have worked in residential settings with young people 'at risk', with female survivors of abuse & for the last seven years as a counsellor with children and teenagers. I believe Kid/Teenpower to be one of the most beneficial interventions available to young people." - Counsellor, Salisbury School

"Effective ways to keep safe. Great examples and role-plays." - Kindergarten teacher
"Feedback from staff from discussion: Even the teachers were empowered when they took part. It was great to see the changes in the shy kids! Catered for a variety of intelligence and learning styles. I hope these examples express the huge vote of support [for] Kidpower and the way it was presented." - Principal, Lower Moutere School
"Teenpower has been engaged to present a major part of our Year 12 Leadership and Lifeskills Programme. We consider the awareness and skills that are central to Teenpower an essential aspect of our young women's education. Students become acutely aware of their safety and self-worth and their potential to protect and defend themselves without becoming aggressive. We recommend Teenpower to other colleges." - Nelson College for Girls
"Staff and students found Teenpower particularly worthwhile. The professional though relaxed manner in which the sessions were conducted with the presenters relating easily to the students, was impressive." - Waimea College

Kidpower has a wonderful way of making kids aware of hidden dangers without escalating their fears." - Success Without Stress
"As a participant and observer I would fully recommend Teenpower to anyone. The tutors had excellent control over a challenging group and a very good manner in relating to young people. The students particularly enjoyed the hands on approach." - Whenua Iti Outdoor Pursuits Centre
